my finished music video with audience feedback.
This is my finished, final edit of my music video. I asked my class to watch my video and give me some feedback of what they thought about it.
Positive
- Good varied shots
- good costume and props
- nice eye contact with the camera
- very good actors (band members)
- very clear genre
- very emotional
- good locations
- nice lip syncing
- stuck to the conventions of genre all the way through
- 'looks like a real music video'
- great song choice
- really like the editing - creates sense of emotion
- good use of colour shots and black and white shots
Negative
- the video ends a bit suddenly
- still could do with some more locations
- sometimes the shots are too slow and makes the shot last a bit too long

My album cover
This is my finished album cover. like i said i would i have stuck with the idea from the boyzone album of cutting the front cover into quarters an having the band members shown individually. I have kept my black and white theme going from my music video because i think it adds a classy aged affect to the image. Ive tried to get the band members making eye contact with the camera to engage the audience and made them look emotional because thats the theme of my music video.

What i want my album cover to look like
I have chosen this album cover to base my one on. This is because, like boyzone, my band consists of 4 members so i like the idea of cutting the cover into quarters and showing them individually. I also like the idea of having a close up shot of the band members because they can engage with the audience better and this will attract the female audience. I want my album cover to keep this basic idea but i want my band members to be wearing suits because thats what theyre wearing for the majority of my music video so it will also represent that. I also want it to be in black and white because again alot of my music video is black and white and i think it adds a bit of class to the image

My updated music video - audience feedback
This is my music video so far, i have added a scene on the beach since the last time i uploaded my video. The last time i did some audience feedback my audience said they wanted more locations, so for the next scene the band left the music studio and went to the beach, this made the music video more interesting as there are more locations and it was what my target audience wanted. They also said they wanted the band to have more eye contact with the audience, so when i did my beach scene i made sure when the band were singing the chorus they made eye contact with the camera, i also did a few shots where members of the band were individually making eye contact with the camera. I did this because my target audience is mainly women that are in love with these band members, so because the band members are making eye contact with the camera it is like they are having contact with the women and it is making the women love them, it also draws the audience in. My audience also said they wanted a wider variety of shots, so in my beach scene i did that. I put in more panning shots of the band, more extreme close ups and slow motion shots. I think the wider variety of shots works well because it makes the video more interesting and stops it from getting dull and boring. The shots also work well to create a sense of emotion, the slow motion close ups really create a sense emotion coming from the band.
I got 5 or 6 members of a year 12 class to watch my new music video and asked them to give me feedback on it, this is what they said:
Positive:
- very clear genre
- looks just like a real music video
- stuck to 'boyband' codes and conventions
- good variety of shots
- like the change of location
- lip sync works well, good timing
- eye contact is nice
- editing creates a good sense of emotion
- very nice costume on the beach, represents the characters well
- good aspirational shots
Negative:
- framing isn't great on some of the shots, sometimes the top of the bands members head is cut off
- another location would be good
- slow down some of the shots, would make it more emotional
- some of the transitions are to fast, need to slow them down
I have taken all this audience feedback into account and i will try and fix the negative feedback by adding more locations, better framed shots. slowing down the clips and transactions. I will take all this into account when i go and film the final part of music video.
